We are pleased you have chosen to worship with us, and we invite you to participate in our programs and activities, whether or not you are ready for full membership. When you are ready, membership will be a natural step, a way to express your joy in – and responsibility for – this faith community.

Membership is a public affirmation that you support the principles and values of UUFM. And, like anything else … the more you put into any relationship or endeavor, the more likely you are to find deeper meaning and connections within yourself and in your life.

If you are ready to join our congregation, it’s easy to become a member.

  • Attend an orientation session, “UU 101,” offered twice a year. (See below for April 19, 2026 "UU101").

  • Participate in the congregation and agree to support UUFM’s values and principles.

  • Sign the UUFM membership book.

  • Pledge a financial contribution to UUFM. The amount is your personal decision. There is no minimum. Financial ability to pledge is never an obstacle to membership. UUFM is entirely self-supporting.

MEMBERS have some tangible benefits, but among the most significant benefits are being part of a caring and supportive home community, personal and spiritual growth, deep connections with others, and being part of something greater than yourself.

Members may:

  • Vote at congregational meetings (adding your voice when UU’s make a public statement on social justice issues, elections, budget adoption).

  • Serve on the Board.

  • Receive a subscription to UU WORLD magazine, published four times a year.

  • Celebrate at the New Member Ceremony (and maybe we should have a party of some sort, even something simple!)

Visitors and Congregants are always welcome at UUFM, and may:

  • Participate in activities and events, and be an important part of congregational life.

  • Attend or lead affinity groups, be on teams or committees.

When you become a member of UUFM, you enter into a covenant with the congregation and join us in our mission to inspire spiritual growth, care for each other and our community, and seek truth and act for justice. We want to become your spiritual home.
